El Carruaje means The Carriage and there is a beautiful restored carriage outside the house waiting to be hitched up to your white horse if you have one spare. El Carruaje is somewhat tricky to find as it is tucked away in the leafy Siboney suburbs. This is a huge gorgeous mansion with a lovely swimming pool and large ranchón in addition to a terraced area and indoor bar and lounge.
El Carruaje describes the food as Cuban with fusion international. The starters are especially good, especially the grilled tamal filled with candied tomato wrapped in raw cured ham. The jamón serrano has a very good quality. For main courses, there is a lot on offer which is good; the lamb with red wine was excellent. Giving in to popular demand, there is a line of pizzas provided as well.
